MIGRATE is an interdisciplinary research project addressing the impact of the presence of refugee reception centers on the surrounding areas where they are located, and the role of local dynamics for the process of integration of asylum seekers and refugees in Italy.
The aim of the project is twofold: i. to assess the effects of the establishment of a reception center on housing prices nearby; ii. and to identify the degree of social inclusion of hosted refugees through the analysis of the levels of accessibility to key services and local opportunities.
The study intends defining the best practices in location patterns of reception centers and providing policy guidelines for improving the inclusion of refugee reception in the local contexts.
Lo studio intende delineare i modelli localizzativi più virtuosi e fornire linee guida per le politiche sociali volte al miglioramento della capacità di inclusione del sistema di accoglienza nel contesto locale di riferimento.
